Description
Dr. Gafni-Pappas is residency-trained and board-certified in Emergency Medicine by the American Board of Emergency Medicine. He is a full-time practitioner of emergency medicine working in a high-volume level 1 tertiary care academic trauma center and a smaller community hospital where he is the Emergency Department Associate Medical Director and Trauma Director. He also has significant experience in urgent care medicine, having been the medical director of a high-volume urgent care. He is the current President and a board member of the Michigan College of Emergency Physicians. He is part of the Core Faculty, Ultrasound Faculty, and previous Assistant Program Director for the University of Michigan/St. Joseph Mercy Hospital Emergency Medicine Residency. He serves as a Councilor from the state of Michigan for the American College of Emergency Physicians yearly council meeting. He is a Co-Section Editor of the Ophthalmology Section as well as a chapter author for CorePendium (an emergency medicine reference text online). He has authored numerous abstracts, scientific articles, and reference articles in the field of emergency medicine and has years of experience reviewing cases for emergency department quality and peer-review committees.
