Dr. Charles Talakkottur, M.D., MRO is a board certified Internal Medicine physician licensed in the state of Florida. He is a certified medical review officer, published author, and preceptor to nurse practitioner students, PA students, and medical students. He has been in private practice for over 10 years and has vast experience working as a former hospitalist working at 6 hospitals, 5 nursing homes, 2 long term acute care hospitals, and 3 assisted living facilities and has transitioned over the years to outpatient only medicine. He deals with complex cases in an outpatient setting, does telemedicine, serves as an Expert Witness for the State of Florida, is medical director for Safety 1st(a workplace injury safety corporation), does Independent Medical Exams, and has testified before an administrative law judge many times for medical necessity review for evaluating for hospice eligibility. He has extensive experience in utilization review, pharmacy step therapy review, auto injury, workers compensation, medical malpractice, and disability among other things.
