Richard N. Bradley, MD has met the highest training standards by being fellowship trained and board certified in Emergency Medical Services by the American Board of Emergency Medicine. He recently retired as a Professor of Emergency Medicine from the McGovern Medical School, where he founded and led the Division of EMS and Disaster Medicine, created the school’s EMS Fellowship, and designed and led a medical student seminar on EMS and Disaster Medicine. He continues in active service as an EMS Medical Director for several EMS Agencies. He started his career as an EMT in 1980 and practiced as a paramedic in California for six years before medical school. In addition to practicing as a paramedic in three states, he also has over twenty years’ experience as a volunteer firefighter. He is a member of the First Aid Task Force of the International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation. He currently serves as a member of the National EMS Advisory Council, where he chairs the Equitable Care Committee. He is a member of the American Red Cross Scientific Advisory Council and past chair of the Resuscitation Sub-council. He is also a board member Citizen CPR Foundation and the International Trauma Life Support Foundation. He serves as the EMS Group Editor for Doody’s Book Review Service and is a Senior Editor for BMC Emergency Medicine. Dr. Bradley is a colonel in the Texas Air National Guard, and recently completed a four-year tour as a Medical Group Commander. He is qualified as a Flight Surgeon and a Critical Care Air Transport Team (CCATT) Physician. He has completed four combat deployments and cared for many dozens of wounded warriors as CCATT physician. He is also active in Disaster Response. He is currently one of three physicians nationwide assigned to the FEMA Urban Search and Rescue Incident Support Teams as a Medical Officer. Over the past three decades, he has led medical personnel during deployments to more than thirty disasters. Dr. Bradley’s expert witness work is notable for being objective and evidence based. He supports his opinions with clear references and works with his clients to help them understand both the strengths and potential weaknesses of their case.
