Regan has more than 25 years of experience in General Surgery, Acute Care Surgery, Trauma Surgery and the Medico-Legal realm. Dr Regan has built programs and is in active surgical practice. Dr Regan is actively teaching and holds two academic appointments. He is Board Certified in General Surgery by the American Board of Surgery. In addition to his academic appointments, Dr Regan supervises other healthcare practitioners and is experienced in their scope of practice. Dr Regan also consults with the Prosecution Services Unit of the Florida Board of Medicine. He has extensive experience in the areas of Peer Review, Sham Peer Review, Bad Faith Peer Review and medical staff quality issues having served both as a member and as Chairman of various hospitals Peer Review Committees and Quality Committees. Dr Regan also does Peer Review for several nationally known locum tenens companies. Dr. Regan has extensive experience as a Medical Expert Witness for both defense and plaintiff in Federal and State cases. Dr Regan has a proven track record. He is skilled at taking complex medical issues and breaking them down into teachable layman’s terms. He is experienced on opining as to Standards of Care and Causation. Dr Regan is also experienced in issues concerning safety of patients in the Operating Room and the perioperative period. Dr Regan is skilled in teaching retaining law firms the medicine of the case.
