John Lloyd, PhD, CPE has served as an expert witness for 25 years, providing testimony in biomechanics, human factors and crash reconstruction involving motorcycle, auto and trucking accidents. He has practiced in the field of biomechanics for over 25 years, and has been board certified (CPE # 725) through the Board of Certification in Professional Ergonomics since 1995. He also holds numerous certifications in motorcycle and automobile accident reconstruction. Applicable professional memberships have included: American Academy of Neurology – Research Scientist; American Academy of Forensic Sciences - Fellow; American Biomechanics Society; American Society Mechanical Engineering; Academy of Certified Brain Injury Specialists (former); ASTM Committee F08 on Sports Equipment, Playing Surfaces and Facilities; Board of Certification in Professional Ergonomics (#725); Human Factors and Ergonomics Society; National Neurotrauma Society (former); International Brain Injury Association; The Ergonomics Society (former); Sigma Xi Research Society; Airborne Public Safety Association; National Association of Traffic Accident Reconstructionists and Investigators; Society of Accident Reconstructionists. John served as a senior researcher in biomechanics for the US Department of Veterans Affairs for 20 years. Additionally, he held a courtesy appointment as Assistant Professor in the University of South Florida College of Engineering from 2002-2022. Dr. Lloyd’s professional work has been published in six book chapters and 34 scientific articles in peer-reviewed journals, as well as presented at more than 100 national and international conferences. His expertise in human factors, biomechanics and accident reconstruction has been recognized and admitted by civil and criminal courts throughout the United States and Great Britain, in which he has provided testimony on more than 140 occasions.
