Greg Bristol is a retired FBI Special Agent and a subject matter expert on investigating hate crimes, human trafficking, and public corruption. He applies his FBI expertise to determine the difference between a labor violation and forced labor or consensual prostitution and sex trafficking. He has taught police officers how to investigate human trafficking and hate crimes since 2006, first as a certified FBI police trainer and secondly as the President of the Human Trafficking Investigations & Training Institute (HTITI). Mr. Bristol is currently an expert consultant with the U.S. Department of Justice’s Office for Victims of Crime - Training & Technical Assistance Center. He assists in financial fraud, hate crimes, human trafficking, and government corruption. He accepts any human trafficking retention agreement through Break the Chain, LLC, an expert witness business in Virginia that has a collaboration of empirical researchers, retired law enforcement, and victim service advocates (www.breakthechainllc.com). His career as a State Trooper, a Special Agent with the FBI, and a Special Agent with the Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction have given him hands-on experience investigating crimes, collecting evidence, and testifying in court. In addition, he built a successful training company that taught law enforcement officers enhanced human trafficking investigative skills. Mr. Bristol has been an expert witness in 17 state and federal civil human trafficking cases resulting in 11 expert witness reports, two expert rebuttal reports, and two depositions. Mr. Bristol testified as a witness in the 2019 hate crime prosecution of a former U.S. Department of State employee who threatened employees at the Arab American Institute in Washington, DC. The defendant, in that case, was sentenced to 60 months in prison in August 2019.
