Dr. Daniel L Southren, M.D. is a Harvard-trained physician who is double-board certified in both Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine. He works in clinical development for a biotechnology company and maintains his anesthesia practice at a number of Harvard affiliated teaching hospitals. Previously, he worked as an Assistant Professor at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Southren completed his Interventional Pain Medicine Fellowship at the Massachusetts General Hospital-Harvard Medical School and his Anesthesiology Residency at the University of Michigan. He completed his M.D. and M.B.A. at Columbia University in New York City. His clinical expertise is in the treatment of acute and chronic pain patients with both malignant and non malignant pain diagnoses, and the practice of general anesthesiology. His ability to distill complex medical issues into coherent and accessible language has been at the core of his success as an educator, clinician and consultant.
