Description
Dr. Carolyn Carman has over 30 years of experience in comprehensive eye care for all ages and specializing in visual impairment due to ocular injury, ocular disease, or brain injury. She has been involved in expert witness testimony for over 20 years and serves both plantiff and defense counsel. She is a residency-certified, licensed, practicing Therapeutic Optometrist and Glaucoma Specialist in Texas. Dr. Carman is presently the Director of the University of Houston Center for Sight Enhancement and is a Clinical Professor in the College of Optometry, specializing in low vision and visual impairment. Dr. Carman is the former Chair of the Texas Optometry Board after receiving 2 Texas Governor appointments. She has served as Chair of multiple national committees, was awarded the Texas Rehabilitation Association Physician of the Year, the Texas Optometric Association Young Optometrist of the Year as well as the Molly Brown Leadership Awards. She currently serves on the State of Texas Medical Advisory Board and is an active member of the American Optometric Association and a Fellow in the American Academy of Optometry. Dr. Carman has lectured extensively nationally and internationally and is a recognized leader in the field of optometry.
