Dr. Zal Phiroz is a recognized supply chain expert; and has served as an expert witness on cases involving manufacturing standards, product quality control, product testing, warehouse standards, product recalls, and consumer behavior patterns. In addition to a consulting portfolio which includes several fortune 500 firms, Dr. Phiroz has held faculty positions at Harvard University, USC, UCSD and MSU . Prior to his academic career, Dr. Phiroz held senior appointments at Procter & Gamble (NYSE: PG), and TELUS (NYSE: T), managing national and international supply chain projects, and overseeing projects on various P&G billion dollar brands (Iams, Tide). The following are examples of Dr. Phiroz’s expert and consulting projects: • Personal injury due to manufacturing and supply chain flaws. Analysis of industry standards for safety and design within the manufacturing, storage, transportation, packaging and quality control phases of a supply chain. • Supply chain ownership and liability. Assessment of liability, by way of supply chain functionality and design. • Breach of contract. Economic evaluation of inventory maintenance, potential for shrink, and overall devaluation. Loss of revenue due to changing consumer behavior patterns and product delays. Dr. Phiroz holds a PhD in Supply Chain Management (UCT), along with an MBA (WSU), and two degrees in Computer Science (UW). In addition to several peer reviewed publications, Dr. Phiroz's latest book (Perspectives of Supply Chain Competitiveness) was released in June 2020.
