Description
Dr. Tiona graduated medical school in 1992 and completed her family medicine residency in 1995. After separating from the USAF in January 1998, she spent the next six years in community medicine before embarking on a career in correctional medicine beginning in June 2004. As part of her duties while employed as the chief medical officer for the Colorado Department of Corrections from 2015 to 2017, she began serving as expert witness for a variety of correctional healthcare cases. After leaving the CDOC, she has continued to practice in the correctional healthcare field as a telemedicine physician for a private prison company, as well as expanding her practice as an expert witness for correctional healthcare-related litigation.
